- Back to the past
Update Date: 09-10-2017
Author: Cafeew

This ancestral hall is housed in the central area of dwellings inside a walled village.
In the old days, central area is a respectable place.
It implies that it is protected by the dwellings.

This concept conveys a strong family ethic.
It always means that local villagers did not forget to worship their ancestors.
Even during the difficult times, they always gave the best to their ancestors.

According to literature records, this ancestral hall was built by Pang clan.
In between the 12th and the 13th centuries, Pang clan immigrated to this place and established the ancestral hall in the north of the walled village.
The ancestral hall is a place for Pang clan to worship their ancestors and also a place for gathering.
In 1846, it was moved to current location due to feng shui reasons.
